5 Versions of Prayer for a New Year, along with Bible Verses

The end of one thing and the beginning of another can leave us feeling excited and/or anxious. Saying a prayer for the new year is an excellent idea as we take the time to reflect on the past year and think about what God’s desire is for us in the year ahead.

The start of a new year is a popular time to make resolutions, to make a solid decision to do something or not do something. We may do an excellent job of sticking to our resolution, or we may not (time always tells).

One of the wonderful things about God is that His grace begins once again every morning! With God, there is never any question as to whether He is going to do what He said – He always keeps His promises.

There is a phrase that is found in the Bible 365 times – one for each day of the year! That phrase is, “Do not be afraid.” God knew that we would need a daily reminder to not fear since we all, as humans, can have a tendency to do just that.

If we trust in the Lord instead of ourselves, we can rest assured that He is taking care of everything for us. He will give us His perfect peace, a peace that this world cannot give.

Use any (or all) of the five prayers below as you talk to God about the new year ahead. It is my hope and prayer that it will be a year filled with love, joy, peace, and happiness. 🙂
