Prayer for a Good Day

3+ Versions of Prayer for a Good Day, along with Bible Verses

Some of us start the morning with a prayer for a good day. Many of us would probably define a good day as one that isn’t full of stress or discomfort.

Each day is a gift from the Lord to be sure. The fact that we have another chance, another opportunity to enjoy life and love others is a blessing!

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 118:24.

And even on the days that don’t seem pleasant to us, there are still things to be thankful for. If we are having a difficult time naming the first one, starting with something we take for granted can get the list rolling.

And besides naming off the things that we are grateful to have, we can also think of the things we are grateful that we don’t have.

Just a few examples: We can be thankful that we didn’t have to pay a doctor bill this month, that we didn’t have to deal with a difficult customer at work, or that we didn’t have to do a specific chore because our spouse did it for us. The list could go on and on…

We surely wouldn’t appreciate the good days as much if we never experienced the bad ones…

As John 1:3 says, “All things were made by Him, and nothing was made without Him.”

Both day and night belong to You; You made the starlight and the sun. Psalm 74:16

4 Versions of Prayer for a Good Day

  1. Faithful Father,

You are the source of hope, and You know all things.

I praise You for the gift of another day!

My hope is that it would be a good one –

That everyone around me would see and feel Your love,

That I would make the most of every opportunity You set before me,

And that I would make wise use of the time You bless me with.

I am so grateful for Your unconditional, never-ending love.

    Amen

The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. Lamentations 3:22-23

  2. God of All Grace,

You are righteous and full of compassion!

I am grateful for the opportunity of another beautiful day.

My desire is to be kind to others, to treat them in a tenderhearted way,

Forgiving them just as You through Jesus Christ have forgiven me.

May I keep my eyes focused on You and on things that are eternal.

Thank You for promising to be with me every single moment of every day.

In the name of Christ I pray,

    Amen

Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6

  3. Everlasting Lord,

You are so powerful, and there is joy in Your presence.

May I use this day to bring honor and glory to You.

Please teach me to think of others more than myself,

For I know that true happiness comes from serving others.

I pray that Your love and kindness would sink into my heart

So that I would be loving, joyful, patient, kind, gentle,

Good, faithful, and self-controlled with other people.

May Your name be blessed forever and ever!

    Amen

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple. Psalm 27:4

  4. Divine Redeemer,

You are the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords.

    You are so very great and mighty in power;

There is no limitation to Your understanding.

My wish for this day is that it would be a great one –

That You would give me the eyes to see how I can

Be a blessing to everyone I come into contact with today.

Thank You for listening to my prayer.

    Amen

As the scripture says, If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good times, you must keep from speaking evil and stop telling lies. You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart. 1 Peter 3:10-11
