7 Versions of Prayer for My Marriage, along with Bible Verses

The Bible says that out of faith, hope and love, the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

Marriage is such a beautiful relationship with a divine purpose, and that divine purpose is to mirror the union of Christ and His church. God showed how much He loved us (and still loves us) by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him (1 John 4:9) .

Marriage gives us the gift of companionship, the opportunity to learn to be less selfish, to learn what it means to show unconditional love, a chance to serve, and so on.

If you aren’t already in the habit of doing so, try praying with your spouse. Come together and speak to God – it will bring a special kind of intimacy to your relationship!

And to learn what your love language is, you can take the Love Language Quiz and share that information with your spouse. If you don’t know what your spouse’s love language is, ask them to take the quiz. Having this information helps us love each other better. 🙂

Whether you’re already married or planning a wedding, these beautiful, scripture-based prayers will bring to mind the special kind of bonding love that exists between a husband and wife.

Some of the most popular Bible verses about love are also included. Use any of the seven prayers below to say a “Prayer for My Marriage” during your special time of talking with God.

  2. Everlasting King,

You are love, and You are full of compassion.

Thank You for the gift of my spouse.

We are husband and wife, and we are a team.

I pray that we would be kind to each other, tenderhearted,

Forgiving each other, just as You through Christ have forgiven us.

And Your love is made complete in us.

May we encourage one another to build each other up.

I pray this in the Sacred Name of Jesus.

    Amen
