Prayer for Pain: 3 Powerful Prayers for Your Time of Need

We all face pain, be it physical or emotional. It can be difficult to believe at times, but God can always make something good come out of our suffering.

There is purpose for our pain. We can best comfort others when we have experienced what they are going through.

It is very reassuring to know that one day God will wipe every tear from our eyes and that there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things will have passed away (Revelation 21:4).

My hope is that the prayers and scriptures below comfort you in your time of need!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

  • God of All Comfort,

    You are The Great Physician.

I know You are near to all who call on You.

I am facing pain, and I pray that

You would strengthen me with all power

    According to Your glorious might

For all endurance and patience with joy.

Please touch me with Your healing hand.

I am grateful that You will never leave me.

I pray this trusting and believing in You,

    Amen

  • God of Hope,

    All power belongs to You.

    I am suffering right now,

And I know that You will strengthen me and help me.

May Your unfailing love be my comfort.

I pray that my heart would have peace in this moment.

Lord, I ask that You would give me rest from this burden of pain.

Nevertheless, not my will be done but Yours.

In Jesus’ Holy Name I pray,

    Amen

  • Mighty God,

There is no limit to what You can do.

    I am experiencing discomfort,

And I really need Your help and healing.

I know that in all things,

You work for the good of those who love You.

I choose right now to turn all of my worries over to You.

Please help me to be strong and courageous.

Thank You for being with me wherever I go.

    Amen

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all

comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort

we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

(Paul the Apostle is speaking.) Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my

flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he

said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:7b-9

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus

Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we

boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know

that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not

put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who

has been given to us. Romans 5:1-6
