Renewal of Faith

Written on August 15th in the year of 1996 under maiden name of Karen Baxter.

The moon shone brightly through the windows,
Constantly giving light and playing with shadows.

It was then I awoke
And decided to go look.

I pushed aside the curtains of lace to see a million stars in place
And the outline of my Savior’s face.

Slowly then I tilted my head,
Thinking how my Savior had bled.

Then a tear rolled down my face
As I thought about His truth and grace.

Jesus had done all this for me
To show His love and set me free.

Then I felt His sweet forgiveness for all I had done wrong
And He told me to Him I would always belong.

I looked up then with tears in my eyes
And knew that only He could satisfy.

Slowly then I raised up my head
And, with renewed faith in my heart, I went back to bed.

I dreamt then with a smile on my face
Knowing that all my sins His love had erased.

Some Bible Verses about Renewal

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:9-10

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7
