Sunday Morning Prayer

Good Morning Sunday with happy face and cup of coffee

7 Versions of Sunday Morning Prayer, along with Bible Verses

Sometimes Sunday is called “The Lord’s Day.” Really, though, every day should be considered “The Lord’s Day” since we need to constantly keep our eyes on Him and remember the many blessings He’s placed in our lives.

This is the first day of a new week, and God’s mercies are new every single morning! Worshipping God, giving thanks, and fellowshipping with others is a wonderful way to spend the day.

If Sunday is your chosen day as a day of rest, enjoy your time of resting in the Lord and getting refreshed!

Jesus rose from the dead on a Sunday. Use any version of Sunday Morning Prayer below to celebrate His resurrection on this glorious day!

Sunday Morning Prayer and Scriptures

  1. Holy Father,

    You are worthy of praise,

It is good to proclaim Your love in the morning.

You loved me and gave Yourself for me.

Your desire is for me to have peace, hope, joy,

And the amazing blessing of Your love.

    Thank You for Your grace.

May I always look to You and Your strength.

    In Your Son’s Sacred Name,

It is good to praise the Lord and make music to Your name, O Most High, proclaiming Your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp. Psalm 92:1-3 (A Song for the Sabbath Day)

  2. Almighty Lord,

All that is good comes from You.

Your way is perfect, and You are pure.

So many things around me are evidence

Of the many blessings You have given.

My desire is to seek Your face always.

May I walk in love today and every day.

Blessed be Your Name forever and ever.

My heart says of You, “Seek His face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Psalm 27:8

  3. Compassionate Father,

You chose me to be holy and without fault in Your eyes.

Because of Your great love, You made me alive with Christ.

I am so grateful for Your constant presence.

Help me to keep my eyes on You

And to think of others before myself.

I pray that You would guard my thoughts.

    May Your will be done.

  4. Divine Redeemer,

It gave You great pleasure to adopt me into Your own family

By bringing me to You through Jesus Christ.

    You are faithful and true.

Your forgiveness is so much greater than my mistakes!

I choose to place all of my trust in You, Father.

May You be glorified in each thing I say and do.

I am so thankful for Your generous blessings.

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

  5. Gracious and Merciful God,

    You have done many wonders.

Your love never changes and never stops.

It is good to praise You and make music to Your name.

I often miss the mark, but Your grace is so much bigger!

Thank You for Your promise to take care of my every need.

May I cling to You always.

    In the name of Christ,

  6. Lord, my Deliverer,

You keep every single one of Your promises.

Nothing can stop the wonderful plans You have for me.

You graciously give, and Your love has no limits.

I pray that You would fill me with overflowing joy.

Thank You for Your promise to give me rest.

I pray that You would cover me with Your peace.

I love You and lift Your name up on high,

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

  7. Precious Savior,

You gave Your Son up for us all.

The hope I have comes only from You.

I often make mistakes, and I am so grateful

That You see Jesus when you look at me.

Thank You for Your promise to give me strength.

May this day be a day of renewal and refreshment.

I pray that You would fill me again with Your Holy Spirit

And lead me in the way everlasting.
