9 Beautiful Mother’s Day Short Prayers, along with Bible Verses
Mother’s day (always celebrated on the 2nd day in May), and really any day, is an ideal time to express honor and appreciation to our moms. After all, being a mother is a full-time job!
Moms do so much every day, and it would probably be fair to say that some (maybe a lot) of it goes unnoticed.
They fill the roles of: alarm clock, cook, waitress, maid, hair stylist, nurse, laundry service, chauffer, teacher, appointment manager, storyteller, household organizer, homework helper, lunch and school bag packer, peacemaker, pet caretaker, meal planner, entertainer, grocery shopper, dental hygienist, comforter, lifeguard, event planner, and the list could go on.
When we’re growing up, many of us want our mother when we’ve gotten hurt or we’re sick. They are the nurturers of the family.
And when we get older, mom is often the person we go to when we need support or we’re seeking advice. The relationship becomes more like a friendship, and we continue to have the opportunity to draw wisdom from her.
The following verse uses the image of a mom and child to symbolize the love between God and one of His children:
Instead, I am content and at peace. As a child lies quietly in its mother’s arms, so my heart is quiet within me. Psalm 131:2

- Heavenly Savior,
I thank You for the precious gift of my mother!
She is full of unconditional love, wisdom, and joy.
Time was spent teaching me many things,
But the most important of these was faith in You.
I pray, Lord, that You would bless her richly.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13 - Loving Father,
My mother is so beautiful – inside and out.
No one else on earth can nurture and comfort like she can.
